Visitors to Thailand who hold valid passports or travelling
documents issued by any country included in an officially
issued list of eligible countries, are permitted one-month
visa-free visits.
If planning a longer stay, a Tourist Visa valid for 60 days
must be obtained from a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate abroad.

Getting around Patong is a breeze. It's not a big resort
area and much of the entertainment, restaurants, shopping
and hotels are located within walking distance of each other. Just a get a map - there are plenty in the hotels and local

Patong's main post office is located along Rat-U-Thit Road,
next to the Patong Palace Hotel at the northern end of Patong.
Open 8am to 4.30pm.
The Thai post service is usually reliable. Urgent or important items can be sent by EMS.

Patong has a number of banks that provide standard services,
Mondays to Fridays, except public and bank holidays, between
8.30am and 3.30pm. Most major banks are found along Rat-U-Thit Road that runs

season, from November until March, when it's not so humid,
